Pride with Purpose - 21 June

Pride with Purpose is a workshop series for LGBTIQA+ advocates, change-makers, and allies in Melbourne's west to help build their capacity in promoting inclusion and diversity. Supported by the Hobsons Bay City Council through the Make It Happen Grants program, this event on 21 June includes the following workshop:

Working with the Rainbow Community - A Starter Kit

This workshop is a 101-style awareness training session about LGBTIQA+ communities, providing a starting point for organisations that want to create a more welcoming environment for employees, customers or clients who identify as part of the LGBTIQA+ community.

The aim of this workshop is to provide a foundational understanding of the LGBTIQA+ community and help kickstart the process of building allyship in the workplace.

This workshop includes an overview of the terminology and concepts around sex, gender and sexual orientation, unpacking the acronym, inclusive language and an understanding of inclusion and allyship at work.
