Call for presenters at Better Together 2021

Do you have a great idea for a presentation, workshop or panel discussion? We invite you to submit a proposal to run a session with the aim of exploring the current issues facing the LGBTIQA+ movement in Australia.

For the first time we are introducing the following conference streams:

SAGE

Better Together 2021 will highlight our over 50/senior LGBTIQ+ communities in a stream we call "Sage". This is stream will tackle issues around ageing, aged care, visibility and empowerment.

CULTURE

This is a broad theme that will explore the important stories of indigenous Australians, LGBT+ people of colour, people seeking asylum and refugees. We will cover relevant topics in the workplace, in sports and issues that affect multi-faith and multicultural communities.

HEALTH

The health and wellbeing of LGBTIQ+ will continue to be a big and important subject and this stream will explore topics on physical and mental health, HIV, intersex variation, ace/aro/transgender health, domestic violence, rainbow families and more.

FRIENDS (ALLIES)

We want to create space for non-LGBTIQ folk to participate, promote awareness and foster collaboration. We want our allies to not only listen and learn but to also share their stories of creating change. What does a good LGBTIQ+ ally look like? How do we practice allyhship? And why is it important to have allies?

We don’t have all the answers but we want to create space to ask the questions. Join us. Our Propose a Session application form is now open. We’d love to hear from you.
