What is a Caucus?
We have been holding caucus gatherings since our very first Better Together conference in 2018. A Caucus is a meeting of individuals and groups from each section and intersection of the LGBTIQA+ community. Its purpose is to:
Create a safe/brave space for the community to discuss the important issues that matter;
Identify what has worked or is working and celebrate the achievements;
Identify the challenges and explore possible solutions to creating change;
Build on existing networks, share ideas and establish new connections;
Foster the creation of a new network, support group and/or advocacy group;
Establish the foundation for strategies for change or an action plan to address identified issues;
Explore ways to support other LGBTIQA+ communities and how to be better allies;
Create new alliances towards a movement for change within and outside of the community.
Who is this for?
Community advocates, activists and change-makers;
Members of the community who want to have a platform to explore the things that matter;
Individuals who want to engage, connect and collaborate with other like-minded individuals.
We warmly invite everyone to participate in a Caucus meeting on 17-19 June 2021 by purchasing a ticket to the Better Together 2021 conference.
